Effects of Pinching and Daminozide Treatment on the Growth and Flowering of Chrysanthemum zawadskii sp. naktongense

Abstract
This study was conducted to examine the effect of pinching and foliar spray of daminozide on the growth and flowering of Chrysanthemum zawadskii ssp. naktongense. Double pinching was more effective for reducing plant height than no or single pinching. Pinching treatment resulted in the decreased number of shoot and flower, and delayed flowering by 927 days. Double foliar spray of daminozide at 25.0¡50.0 §· per pot reduced plant height, and foliar spray at 50.0 §· per pot decreased internode length, leaf length and width. Foliar spray of daminozide had no effect on days to flowering, flower number, and chlorophyll content, but increased total carbon and nitrogen content in leaf. Double foliar spray at 25.0 §· per pot or single foliar spray at 50.0 §· per pot after single pinching was most effective in reducing plant height and flowering for pot culture.
